What's Your Christmas Wish List ???

Hello gorgeous people!! How have you been??

Well we in Chandigarh experienced the first winter showers today and man..its winters OFFICIALLY!! Now just as it was raining and getting dark and I was piling on another layer of cardigan I reminisced some typical winters scenes - layers and layers of cardigans, constantly cold feet, the toughest battle to get out of the blanket each morning, quiet streets, gloomy evenings, gripping hot coffee and tea, great skin and hair, the chilly wind striking the face, fabulous clothes, lots of weddings, parties, new year resolution drafts and and and SANTA : D

Yes..the reason I had been absent all this while was because my darling sister had to go to US, which makes her my Santa for the season :p

So as she holidays there, I shall be here waiting for my bag(s) full of Christmas goodies...Though she is off with quite an extensive list from me, here's a peak into my wish list:

Christmas and Santa are symbolic of another thing and that is STOCKINGS!! Yes, winter fashion lets you morph yourself (legs to be exact) in amazing hues which can lift up any outfit. Besides they are a great way to enhance the traditional greys, blacks and navy blues. Plus plus plus, contrary to popular belief they are really really warm precisely because they are mostly in nylon mix which traps, locks and seals air byways.

For this post, I wore a summer dress the winter way, completing it with some feminine accessories and the season's favourite shimmering - metallic hues!!

This is how the dress looks originally:

And this is how I wore it:

This pendant has a beautiful European lady etched on it in white..I wish you guys could see it better :(

Wearing:

Dress - TrimmingsAndLace
Silver Top - Next
Stockings - H and M
Ballerina flats - Macy's (New York)
Ring - Thrifted (Australia)
Pendant - Gifted

I shall be happily playing Santa for my gorgeous readers this festive season. Get ready for your winter wish lists :D To know more please visit my Facebook page here. DO NOT forget to like my page. You guys can follow me on Twitter as well - #TrimmingsNdLace!!

IN THE S.P.O.T.L.I.G.H.T

Hello people. How are we doing?
I hope that the past week has been great for you all..and I also hope that all my lovely readers in India have caught up on ROCKSTAR. I have seen the movie twice - back-to-back shows literally – and I absolutely loved it!!

Before penning this post I was just surfing the internet (read - reading your wonderful blogs, checking fashion sites, latest collections and of course online retail portals..long live ASOS) and repeatedly came across the term “Burberry Plaid.” This intrigued me to learn more about the different varieties of this forever - in - vogue fabric called PLAID, which is a winter synonym.

I am guessing many of you, like me, must have heard about these varieties..but just attempting to get into a little depth here..hope you guys enjoy this!!

But before that, here’s my Plaid outfit. It’s something I wore shopping with my parents, about a week back.
This outfit has been inspired by my ever so favourite – BLAIR WALDORF.

That's what the ever charming Blair wore:

I skipped the hat (quite obvious - imagine me walking in an exhibition with my parents and a hat) and carried a black bag instead of the red. I completed the look with this delicate neck-piece.

Wearing:

Plaid Skirt - Tailored
Crochet Top - Next (You can see me wearing the same here)
Wrap - Bershka Dubai (Catch me wearing it long here)
Bag - Elle
Stockings - Forever 21
Ballerina Flats - Local Store in Chandigarh
Neck-piece - Claire's

So, starting with the tutorial basics..what is plaid?

A plaid is a pattern consisting of crossed horizontal and vertical bands in two or more colors in woven cloth.

The fabric has the following types:
(Note the visible differences in each type, although the basic weave remains the checked pattern.)

1. Scottish Tartan

2. Gingham Check

 3. Burberry Plaid

4. Madras Check

Did you guys enjoy this plaid-play post? I would love to know your views :)

Eclectic Electric Blue

Hey all you beautiful people..How have you been?? Well I have been rather busy, for no apparent reason indeed. Guess, I am getting lazy (again!!).
I had a long, tiring day so this ones gonna be short...but with all the warmth and affection intact :)
By way of short, and prescribing judiciously to my MBA learnings..I am gonna "Bullet point" (eeeewwwwww that's exactly the jargon used in B Schools) what I wish to say!!
  • This is what I wore yesterday for work.
  • I had thought over buying this shade of jeans for long and I am happy to have finally settled.
  • The blouse is designed by me.
  • I love the shade Electric Blue.
  • I am totally coveting Snakeskin this season. Love the addition of that texture.
  • Tell me about it..the contrast I mean.
  • I shall be reverting to your wonderful comments and heart felt messages really soon...You know I honour these..don't you?? *Love**Love*

THANKING YOU!!

Hello people..I am finally back after all the festivities and my much awaited - The Indian Formula One Grand Prix Experience (you checked out the upper lower case :p). I am so excited to share that thrilling experience, the pictures, my outfits and just the overall vibe of the event. I am convinced that all superlatives to describe the same would fall flat. I hope you all would come back to see that happening :):)

I recently received the ‘Tell Me About Yourself’ award, passed onto me by the wonderful B from All About Thrifting. I love her sense of style which is subtly classy and edgier..all at once. You have to check her blog for her amazing collection of accessories as well!! Thank you so much B *Hugs*

The award came with some interesting rules which are:
- Thank and link back to the person who awarded you.
- Write 7 random facts about yourself.
- Pass on the award to 15 other bloggers.

1. I keep a count of how much water I drink in a day.
2. I love to sleep and before I sleep, for reasons beyond my understanding, I always think, dream and fantasize clothes.
3. The moment I step into a mall or any arena holding shopping potential, I cannot stop smiling for the initial 5 to 10 minutes.
4. I would like to believe that I am organized. I have little mental codes and calculations I use to handle and take care of my belongings.
5. I am bad with gadgets. As I have been told, “I do not use them to their full potential.”
6. I adore my Angry Birds stuff toys.
7. My loved ones call me AGU which in my reasoning extends to include the three most important people in my life – Amit, Gautam and Umang.

You can check out more of MY randomness here.

Through this award I want to thank a few people I got to know in the blogging world and convey my sincerest appreciation for what they do. Thank you all!!

Here's a list of the 15 bloggers I proudly pass on this award to:

Congratulations :D

Finally, a big big thank you to my fashion fairy GodMother, the dearest Sugandha Khosla. I adore all the 'owl' gifts..and I love you for those :) Thank you!!

Here's how I wore them. Its my rocka - chic look people!!

High Noon

Hello beautiful people!!

I am so so excited to "break this news" to you guys.

I recently did a guest post for the lovely Chandana from The Girl At First Avenue. I had been contemplating for quite some time now to include a guest post on my blog and she always topped my mind as someone I would want to begin with. I felt privelged that she thought of me in that light as well.
What I love about Chandana's blog is the fact that her blog is multi faceted. Its about fashion, her ideologies and such wonderful aspects of life that we often tend to miss. Every time I visit her blog I am amused at the diversity of her thoughts and how beautifully she is able to pen them. You can relate to each and every word she says. I admire her candidness and her up front dignity. Some instances from her life are truly inspiring. You have to have to check her blog to believe me!!
P.S And she looks gorgeous in a saree :D

Guys please check out my post here.

And you can scroll down for more of my outfit pictures :):)

Colour Wheel

A big big hello to all my lovely people. Now, this one really has to big because it comes after long..yaayyeeee I am finally back :D

Now before my absence begins to sound like a planned sabbatical..let me tel you dearies that it was so not planned and this entire phase included only two non - exciting things - Work (loads of it) and Bad Health (because of the work and certainly loads of it). So, a big phewwwwwwwwww :p that it's all over and over on a fantastic note!!

Amidst all this, I did keep myself updated with regular dose of fashion :) Summer fashion did abandon the clichés and bought in lots of bold, statement colours into picture. It certainly was THE FASHION MOMENT as sophisticated theatrics made way for statement colours. It definitely is the Colour - Block carry forward, but who's complaining??
I am usually the one keeping it minimal when wearing dresses. Mostly, I have been accessorizing dresses by teaming them up with nudes. But I decided to give that code a miss this time :)

Check it out:

Keeping up with Vogue's 'Big Bright Fashion' tutorial, instead of teaming this dress with say a sober bag, I experimented with this bright purple hobo. As, regards the footwear I preferred going back to my basics :):)

This dress is one of my most favourite pieces. It is perfect to wear for fun (autumn-y) lunches and because of its double-breasted collars its a good substitute for regular formal wears as well. Plus it ties in a bow at the back <3<3

Wearing:

Printed Dress: TrimmingsAndLace
Ballerina Flats: H and M
Bag: Thrifted (Mumbai)
Watch: Bonia

You might wanna see I wore colours here.
