Transitions : From The Woods

Shot By - HimShootz

Sharing this outfit post today, seems ironic to an extent. Here I was reciting the melancholy of an extended winter and here I am today, experiencing the temperatures sky rocketing by the day. What did it leave us with? Well, a few days escape which we could proudly call as spring. We shot this look a few weeks back and it lay in my drafts since. Well, this kaftan dress makes for a perfect beach escapade, edging it up with the 'boots of the season' on a scouting spree didn't seem like a bad deal too. For the shoot, I quickly tied my hair in an a.k.a Serena bun and wore these stunner of a statement earrings. A very casual and an easy look, perfect for running weekend errands or a carefree stroll to the local market or for that late Saturday movie. You can always throw on a denim jacket or a casual blazer for evenings that turn a bit chilly!

On a side note, I am so exciting to share that TrimmingsAndLace will be on YouTube soon. I can't wait to explore and work in this creatively channeling genre of fashion and personal style. Don't forget to catch a glimpse here

TrimmingsAndLace For : App Review

Klip GIF

Klip 2

The story of every fashion lover has this chapter. The one which started with clipping cuttings of fashion magazines and celebrity features in newspapers into folders and files, moved on to an array of folders on the desktop and perhaps progressed with book-marking and categorizing them for "long term reference". The fashion world today is a livewire. Fashion is evolving by the minute and your have hordes of options rising from the streets, high street brands and the social media itself, making themselves available to you at a click. The fashion lover too has grown and is constantly on the move. Bridging this vital gap and making 'fashion' available in real time is with their newly launched Klip mobile app. I was lucky to be among the #FirstCircle of few chosen bloggers to test and experience this app prior its official launch.

I am someone who just like my shopping trips, likes my tech-usage to be easy, fuss-free and user-friendly. And this app, checks all boxes in that regard. The user is welcomed by an easy sign-in process. If you are an existing user at you just need to fill in your details, otherwise you can choose to sign-in with your existing social profiles. Alternatively, you can create a fresh account which takes less than a minute, on the clock! Being a huge lover of minimalism, the other feature that instantly drew me to the app was its basic and clean interface. As you sign-in, you are taken to pick your category of choice – Men, Women, Home, Lifestyle – for you to explore and discover styles and trends under each. You can further narrow your choices and preferences based on the sub-sections provided under each category. Your picks and preferences will accordingly be reflected in your home feed, which by far is my favourite section in the app. Move away clicks and scrolling, you can access your home feed in easy and fun swipes which again makes the app very convenient and perfect to access whether you are catching up with your girls over coffee or are on the go in a cab. If this wasn’t enough, with the Klip mobile app you get an access to the current collections of over a hundred brands (Flipkart, Myntra, Jabong, Forever New, Koovs…to name a few), get a feeler of the latest trends, compare styles and prices before you make your final pick. And with all this, the cherry on the top is your personal profile. You can ‘klip’ your favourite pieces to your profile and keep them as reference or visit them later when you need to make your shopping decisions.

So, isn’t this a complete shopping experience taking a detour and coming to you how you would like it best. Don’t believe me? Here’s how you will – Download Klip.

And once you do, don’t forget to join me at Klip – TrimmingsAndLace. See you there!

Lifestyle #InstaLife - The Yellow Life

Spring marks an enthralling transformation in the life of the living beings and in the many processes of life. The gloomy days of the winters begin to fade in memories, the frozen earth sprungs new buds in anticipation of growth and brightness and the senses of sight, sound and smell rejoice in absolute harmony. As the living beings delight in resurrection, quickened sensibilities and youthfulness, the fashion world opens new reins to colours and prints. Like fashion and style trends, the glamour of spring remains unchanged. But it seems to have found a lasting companion in colours, textures, prints, cuts and Instagram. In March, I associated with Lifestyle International to showcase their Spring/Summer'15 collection which celebrates the energy, zeal, passion and immense talent hosted by individuals across varied fields and how dynamic is their #InstaLife. True to idea, the Spring/Summer collection at Lifestyle is an amazing conglomerate of trends and fashion moments. From florals to stripes, from fringes to laces, from yellows to summer whites, from military to denim, from crop tops to culottes, the list seems endless. But if you are someone who wishes to be bang on trend without burning the pocket, this collection is surely a haven for you.

For this styling project, I stuck to the books and trend reports and picked up pieces in yellow, a pair of denim culottes, a basic white lace dress and an Aztec print blazer (here). For this very look, I decided to keep the whole look very minimal and carefree and paired this lace crop top with a pair of culottes. The day started with clear skies but quite unlike my idea of spring, it suddenly changed into one downpour of sorts. Which is why, unlike last time, I decided to keep it relaxed in brogues with my messy, wind affected and half wet hair as company. But isn't doing it 'now' and capturing the real time is what #InstaLife holds for? To finish the look and still keep it a little dressy, I added a contrast by these purple statement drops.

Though, our shoot was a pack-up in 15 minutes, I am thrilled with the job done by Saajan (@sajanaroraphotography) and Ravit (@ravkdesigns) on the pictures. Don't forget to stop by their work and show some love. I hope you enjoyed the post and my experience of it all!
