TrimmingsAndLace For Vajor : Once Upon A Princess

This remains my favourite look from the Vajor series because it gave me a chance to exhibit my inner Dolce and Gabbana girl. I absolutely love the gold tones in this outfit which so gracefully reflect the setting golden light of Fall. A textured skirt and a stylishly structured top calls for smidgen yet impactful styling. This look is perfect for all those card parties you'll be hosting and attending. Add on a pair of statement earrings or a neck-piece or a headband like me if you reckon, and you are bound to make many heads turn. I am sure you've experimented and explored multiple dressing options when it comes to festive dinners and parties - from completely Indian to completely western - a look like this stylishly sits in between and is a winner in all respects. We know that during this period, your routine gets happily hectic. With all the running about, it can be difficult saving those feet for the dance floor. Which is why, I finished the look with those gorgeous wedges that are extremely comfortable and give the outfit the proportions it demands without making it look bulky.

Especially during Diwali, when the time comes for action, the last thing you want is to worry about the multiple elements in your look. Which is why an outfit that speaks for itself is ideal. It lets all the fashion trends do the talking while you head-out for the hustle, bustle and bang and to life in its complete glory.

Jacquard Called Me Back

Summer dressing for me means treading the crossroads where fashion and comfort coincide. English print dresses, breezy cottons, flip-flops, wedges, minimal jewellery, nude nails and make-up, cut-offs and that old T-Shirt which has been worn to death, cross all boxes when it comes to my summer style. Personally, I feel any wardrobe is incomplete without the understated yet classic shirt dress. Ever since I ventured into designing, I realized that the basic cut of the shirt dress is something that largely defines my design sensibilities and hence also reflects in my everyday style. Collared, pleated, clinched the shirt dress spells easy, prim and dressy. Needless to say, a silhouette like this tops my list of summer dressing.
Much like such effortlessly stylish dresses, I have been sporting and loving jewellery that is simple, no-fuss and compliments outfits in a diverse range. If you have been following me on Instagram, you must be aware of my on-going project with Miss Flurrty. These gold bangles have become my everyday favourites and have been lying on my bed side, being a quick fix for meetings and shoots alike (check and here). Do you have any summer staples when it comes to clothes and jewellery? Don't forget to share it with me in the comments section below or tweet me at @TrimmingsNdLace.
Thank you for your love on my last two posts (Culottes and Lilac Love) (Undecided Love). I am truly grateful to each one of you. Thank you!

The Golden Midnight

As I sit to pen down my upcoming outfit posts, I am fearing that I'll bore you off all my outfits which include skirts. Along with the fashion world, I seem to be having a major skirt moment in present. Though I have been in love with skirts forever for their undisputed ability (have I said this before?) to give me a new outfit every.single.time, currently skirts and more skirts seem to have been filling my wardrobe and The TrimmingsAndLace Collection. A silk skirt was an added risk to the collection, but I am happy I swayed that way. More than the look of it, the feel of silk is sure to poise up your look. I am not marketing, but you got to slip into one to believe me. A ruffled blouse, denim wedges, scaled and spiked jewellery were my bits to add different textural elements to the outfit. Also, I was happy to let these gorgeous wedges have a second sighting on the blog.
From chiffon's and lace to silks. I am definitely in the Dolce and Gabbana zone now. With me?

~~Whites And Ferns~~

Hello lovely Readers!!
Apologies for this vague title..I am hoping to justify it as I proceed with this post. I am having trouble deciding as to what I want to talk about in this post ( I am sure we all have 'THOSE DAYS'). I think my Grey matter has gone for a little sabbatical. So this post is gonna be all RANDOMNESS!!

So, here starting with ten RANDOM things about me. I hope that what my dearest followers know of me through my posts, this would simply add to knowing me a little more...and here's certainly hoping that you all would be interested :):)

1. I love clothes. I love to shop and if I cannot find something that I particularly want, I rampage boutiques till I finally get it tailored or should I say custom-made :p

2. I love my family. My mom is my best friend and my Dad is the cutest in the world.

3. I have an elder sister. Her name is Umang and I idolize her. Also, we are lucky to have the same size in clothes and shoes!!

4.I believe in fairy tales (and Karma). Its Amit who completes my fairy-tale :)

5. I swear by natural i.e. 'kitchen shelf ' products for skin.

6. One of my biggest source of strength and inspiration is my brother Gautam. He means the world to me and I feel blessed to have him.

7. I hate getting clicked. OK not hate but it makes me extremely uncomfortable. That's the reason that most of the time you find me head-less :p

8. My best friends are Tanya and Bhanu. Tanya is my soul sister. The reason I can write to you is her. Bhanu is my agony aunt. She is the most positive person alive and knowing her you cant help but appreciate all the good things in life.

9. I love to dress traditional. My favourite outfit is the Salwar Kameez.

10. I would love to visit Disney Land one day. Also its my dream to see a World Cup Football match live (Did I mention I love football :D) and and and visit the manufacturing units of each and every Luxury House!!

:):):):):):)

Coming over to why this post is titled what it is!! I realized that Summers are fast transforming into Monsoons and till date I had not done an outfit post in the SUMMER CLASSIC - WHITE. Here's a look into how I wore white today:

I wore a white sundress with fern green wedges :) I belted this A line dress to enhance and define its shape. Green and Purple were the two colours I picked to contrast with this dress. Keeping in tune with the tone of the dress I kept my accessories minimal. A few bangles and the neck-piece complemented the entire look.

Beautiful embroidery details the neck of this dress. The embroidery adds a feminist touch to the other wise strong appeal of the dress with regard to its fabric, buttons and pockets.

I finished the look with a green bag which I carried like a super-size clutch.
Wearing:

White Sundress: Local Boutique (Dubai)
Fern Green Wedges: Vintage Shop (Shimla)
Bag: Nine West
Bangles and Neck-piece: Gifted :)

  • You can catch me wearing green here.
  • The bag was also carried by me here.
  • My love for 'belting' outfits can be seen here, here and here.

Walking Down The Denim Route

A warm hello my dear followers!!

I admit that I do get late in coming up with my posts but the fact is that the moment I sit down to prepare/work on my post..I get carried away into reading all the wonderful blogs my fellow bloggers write. What I enjoy the most is the wide array of topics I get to read..be that great fashion tips, social issues, fitness and training and some fantastic pieces of literary work. Its amazing to learn about such diversified topics..Respect!!

I have been reading a lot about the BLUE JEAN BABY (as called by Vogue) i.e. our very own denim as the trend mantra this season. The Denim fever this season has reincarnated itself and also extended on to skirts, blazers, bags, jumpsuits and shirts.
Though fashion houses like Stella Mccartney, Celine, Just Cavalli, Moschino among others promote an all - over denim look...I started with my chopped :p denim skirt, bag and wedges. Here's how:

I wore this denim skirt which if I remember correctly I bought way back when I was in grade VI..Glad it still fits me but I have had its length altered..chopped off actually :) I wore it with an off shoulder printed blouse with a turquoise tank underneath.
Wearing : Denim Skirt local store in Chandigarh, Printed off shoulder blouse from Australia, Tank from Aeropostale, Denim bag thrifted from Dubai, Denim wedges Marks & Spencer.

I accessorized the look by wearing cocktail rings in the shades of green, maroon and olive and bangles in gold, green, orange and turquoise (all thrifted). Hoping my picture lends a good view of the accessories :)

Hope you enjoyed the post!! I await your lovely comments :) Go out and Do Denim!! Also, you can check out the trend report on denim by stylepile.
P.S you can see how I wear my green cocktail ring here.
