Watercolours And Serene Rumblings

If you've been a regular on the blog and my page, you must be having an idea about my crop-top infatuation turned obsession. So with a couple of posts lined up to do so, today let me not take you down the route of how the cropped trend is ruling the fashion scene and the numerous ways it can be worn.
Over the past few weeks, I have grown to acknowledge and accept more the lessons life teaches us everyday. These are a few thoughts I have been going to bed with and I am taking a chance to share them with you -

1. It has become increasing important for us in the present day to value our real relationships and accept the fact that virtual relations are, well virtual. As easy as it is to make a relation, a simple reject/block/unfollow is enough to break it. The human connect and presence has been reduced to a mere click. How lonely can this make us eventually, don't stick around to explore that.

2. Forgiveness - it is the hardest thing to do. It takes every inch of strength our body possesses to let go and forgive. But at the same, it is vital to understand that as humans we are bound to make mistakes - good, bad and ugly. And when the time is on us, we must also accept them and seek forgiveness. But one mustn't allow a mistake to govern his/her future. You cannot live being apologetic for the rest of your life. Your mistakes made you who you were, not necessarily to govern who you will be.

3. Imitation is indeed a very powerful gesture of flattery. But it stands justified only to an extent. Post that, its called stalking. You seriously don't need to do things the way I do - pictures, comments, social messages and even hashtags and fonts. Trust me, you can do better!

4. There is nothing in life that shall go unanswered. Sometimes, we twirl ourselves in egos, criticisms, anger, disgust, regret and revenge. And that's what proves we are human. But there is a stronger force above this all - Karma. Let it take its course. And it doesn't disappoint. But at the same time, make sure to keep your circle positive.

5. Rise above pettiness. There is more to life than indulging in the petty frictions it brings. Don't make or allow yourself to construct your life with mediocrity.

I would love if you all participate and share your views on the same. You can drop in comments, email me or send in a tweet. Thank you for reading.

Never A Grey

With great respect, all fashion forwards know I cannot talk them through it. I am late! Patterns and prints have always been the fashion world favourites, but Spring '13 saw the rise and glide of stripes to take over the former domain by storm. From luxury brands like Etro, Michael KorsOscar De La Renta and Marc Jacobs to high-streets like ZARA (love) and Tommy Hilfiger, there has been no stopping this trend. I picked up this shirt way back in March and since then have worn it with colour, prints and denim alike. That's until I decided to settle with the classics (much like this) for a meeting. That's the thing about stripes I believe. You do them in colour or in monotones, during the day or the night, they are enough to keep the 'geometric glamour' intact. Not to forget, the lovely slimming effect they add when worn vertically.

Which is your favourite stripped piece from your closet? Don't forget to share it with me in the comments section below!

Have a wonderful week ahead.

Its Time We Saw Some LACE

The world was introduced to Lace way back in the 16th century, when the clergy of the early Catholic Church made it a part of vestments in religious ceremonies. Lace is that super-luxe fabric, that has ever since stood the test of time. Described as one of the most feminine fabric, reminiscent of the innocence of a girl and the poise of a lady, lace can never go out of fashion. I feel so glad that Lace is no longer associated only with the classic whites, blacks and beiges and we have a bounty of non-monochromic options to explore.
Personally, I love wearing lace for all the obvious reasons. Here are some style tips one can keep in mind when wearing lace:

1.  The key is to pick one lace element per look. I really like how Stella McCartney and Diane von Furstenberg offer beautiful blouses with lace details such as inlays and sleeves. These blouses pair perfectly with everything from distressed denim to pencil skirts.
2.  Choose minimal accessories to pair with lace. Let lace remain the main element of the ensemble.
3. Wear white lace dresses with camel colored flats or gladiators, accessorizing with chunks of gold for the day. Lace with mixed fabrics works well for the evenings.
4.  If you do not want to commit to an all lace look, opt for lace accessories; a clutch or shoes.
5.  Wearing lace does not mean or should be understood as revelation. It should show that you are a woman but define that you are a lady.

Shy Away

CONSCIOUSLY or unconsciously we are always taught to do justice to what we do. It is instilled in our minds and forms a part of social standing that we are fair and honest to what we do - be that education, job, business, a hobby or dressing up :D

So if you are a style blogger and an acquaintance (who you know is a secret reader of your blog but not a blatant admirer) plans to surprise you in like 15mins..what do you do ?? Glam Up and do justice to what we blog fellas!!

Since I am not making a red carpet appearance in the coming future..I'll be pleased to present my lazy-ing, one-of-those normal days outfits which I had to Glam Up for my visitor. I added a blazer on top of this regular turtle-neck sweater, worn with my favourite checked pants and wore my new statement neckpiece for the finish..

Blazers are one of my favourite pieces. You throw on a blazer and it adds so much structure and poise to what you are wearing. It makes you look presentable, firm and ready to take it all on. Fashion+Power!!

What happens when you take it off?? You sit and wonder whether you did justice to who she sees on TrimmingsAndLace.
