Life & Me

Hello Lovelies!!

It seems I no longer need to shout from rooftops my love for stockings and how much of a winter staple they are for me.

That was my outfit, definitely intended to brighten a typical winter day. Yes, perhaps the amusement park visit with my four year old brother, the rides and endless doses of McFlurry and french fries (oooppsss it is OK to spoil yourself..I never proclaimed I was a celebrity *wink*) wasn't enough to make the day brighter!!

I teamed up my purple turtleneck sweater dress with orange stockings (Winter Colour-Blocking???) to create a very basic and bright look. Turtlenecks are back from an exile thanks to designers like Poebe Philo, Raf Simmons and Altuzarra and continue to uphold the charm of sophistication and chicness.

Wearing:

Sweater Dress from GAP
Stockings from Forever 21
Ballerina Flats from Macy's
Bag from Gucci
Vintage Trench - Its my mom's and roughly 25 years old :D
Orange turtleneck sweater (worn underneath) is too old to remember :p

P.S One of my readers recently wrote to me stating that what I call as 'stockings' should rightly be addressed as tights or pantyhose. Error regretted!!

Leaving you guys with some really interesting quotes I picked up from a rather popular Facebook page called Life is a Bitch Quotes. I found it quite late :(:(

Checked-In

A full power 'warm' hello from this part of the world where at present it is hell cold!!

So yes, I went into this unplanned sabbatical only to come out realizing that such sabbaticals/holidays/vacations are truly magical. These provide you with those little moments when you live life the way it is meant to be. I have had my share of good-bad realizations and awakenings this particular recent past..but more on that in my upcoming posts.
As of now..I am back, showcasing to you all my ultimate love for fashion and my bit in proclaiming the same with much aplomb.

If my lovely readers remember our discussion on what can be called as the winter staple - PLAID and its types, please count this post as an extension to the same. I shall be archiving one of my super relaxed (and super chic :p) Gingham Check moment.

This shirt had been one of my best buys last summer. It is 100% cotton which makes it ideal for Indian summers.

To add some colour to this monotone-ish outfit I brought out my bright pink bag.

Finally, I accessorized the outfit with some feminine accessories like this pearl bracelet and the pearl brooch. Notice how I pinned the same on the Nehru/Mandarin collars :)

Wearing:
Shirt - Van Heusen
Jeans - Jealous 21 (worn here too)
Multi Skinned Pumps - Aldo (worn here and here as well)
Bag - Juicy Couture (also carried here)
Bracelet and brooch - Gifted

Did you guys like the look?? I shall look forward to your comments and suggestions.

P.S Have you voted for your favourite TrimmingsAndLace outfit for 2011?? You can do so now!! Don't forget to follow me on Facebook and Twitter :):)

HhAaPpPpYy 2012

A fresh start...A new opportunity...A new dream...A new wish...
As the new year dawns, may it bring with it an abundance of wisdom, health and prosperity! Wishing you all an awesome 2012.
Keep blessing and loving TrimmingsAndLace ♥♥
Fashion 'wise'...I admit on being inclined towards colors a little more than monotones, but OK let's confess..wearing that bright, sunshine yellow is a tricky business. Perhaps that explains why this crochet, lamb wool wrap had been lying in my closet for quite some years now. Did I tell you its frill-y as well :)
I'll be well honest..This is my first attempt in donning this wrap in a slightly subtle manner. Yes the subtle is slight..c'mon who said core winters are meant to be a fashion bore :p

I know many of you might be pulling your hair out at the sight of those socks. I too am on an edge about them..but I believe in sensible fashion. It is freaking cold here and I can be a little selfish to let these poor babies be an eye sore than suffering from cold feet and that uncontrollable shivering :D

I had thought of complementing the yellow-navy blue combination with a hint of red. But settled for this green houndstooth patterned muffler instead :)
Are you guys too loving the houndstooth patterned outfits in Salvatore Ferragamo Fall Winter 2011 collection??

Wearing:

Yellow wrap from a local store in Dubai
Navy blue cardigan from Tommy Hilfiger
Muffler from Marks & Spencer
Pumps from Aldo
Jeans from Lycra
