The Pinks You Cannot Miss

 photo _MG_4358.jpg photo _MG_4372.jpg photo _MG_4432.jpg photo _MG_4377.jpg photo _MG_4364.jpg

Love it or hate it, but you cannot escape it - All pretty things do come in pink and all the Valentine hum drum involves pink, and a lot of it. But beyond the pretty and the mushy, for me pink affiliates with strength and empowerment as well (and much more).

With February unremarkably being the month of love (and all the branding that has gone into making it one), I felt it right to share with you my all time favourite pinks. I wouldn't label all of them as classics, however, being personal favourites I'll certainly recommend splurging on them.

Here's my list -

1. Chance by Chanel
2. Miss Dior by Christian Dior
3. Dream of Pink by Lacoste - Sadly discontinued. Hence, I savour every drop of mine!
4. Chatterbox by M.A.C - Works better as a blush. Trust me!
5. Breathing Fire by M.A.C

TrimmingsAndLace For Vajor : Once Upon A Princess

 photo _MG_8868.jpg photo _MG_8872.jpg photo _MG_9016.jpg photo _MG_8920.jpg photo 2015-11-24.jpg photo _MG_8873.jpg photo _MG_8927.jpg photo _MG_8895.jpg photo _MG_8997.jpg photo _MG_8972.jpg

This remains my favourite look from the Vajor series because it gave me a chance to exhibit my inner Dolce and Gabbana girl. I absolutely love the gold tones in this outfit which so gracefully reflect the setting golden light of Fall. A textured skirt and a stylishly structured top calls for smidgen yet impactful styling. This look is perfect for all those card parties you'll be hosting and attending. Add on a pair of statement earrings or a neck-piece or a headband like me if you reckon, and you are bound to make many heads turn. I am sure you've experimented and explored multiple dressing options when it comes to festive dinners and parties - from completely Indian to completely western - a look like this stylishly sits in between and is a winner in all respects. We know that during this period, your routine gets happily hectic. With all the running about, it can be difficult saving those feet for the dance floor. Which is why, I finished the look with those gorgeous wedges that are extremely comfortable and give the outfit the proportions it demands without making it look bulky.

Especially during Diwali, when the time comes for action, the last thing you want is to worry about the multiple elements in your look. Which is why an outfit that speaks for itself is ideal. It lets all the fashion trends do the talking while you head-out for the hustle, bustle and bang and to life in its complete glory.

TrimmingsAndLace For Swarovski : A Sparkle A Time

A woman and her love for jewellery can never really be summed up in words, let alone contained. From the time she watches her mother adorn her treasures to dreaming of dressing up in heirlooms. From the inherent consciousness of collecting and savouring her jewellery pieces to stopping at those large, inviting display windows...woman and her love for jewellery wasn't really meant to be put into words, let alone contained.

Earlier this month I collaborated with Swarovski to style a look for this party season. I have always been a huge fan and an admirer of Swarovski crystals and jewellery. The finesse with which a simple piece of glass is so beautifully maneuvered to create something this delicate, is a form of unmatched art and skill. To celebrate this association and the timeless Swarovski appeal, I knew I had to save this look for the last. When it came to my outfit, I went ahead with the classic bling. If you are someone who prefers a look that is comfortable, easy and an extention to your personal favourites, the best is to stick to the classics. Doing so, leaves room for experimentation in jewellery, accessories and make-up. And that's pretty much what I did with this look. You can wear these pieces on their own, layer them or mix them to create a balanced look. I am sure you'll agree when I say that they'll look beautiful and appealing in every way. To balance the modern silhouette of the dress and giving in to old world charm, I added elements like this faux fur cape (Gifted by my grandmother, but never worn. This is for her) and did my lips in classic red. For the eyes I tried the Hollywood glam winged-eye (similar).

Now for the good bit. I need no Swarovski, said no woman ever. This year has been so overwhelming for me, in more ways than one. I feel I can never thank any of you enough for the love and support you have given this little endeavour of mine. If you are the one who is a regular reader of my blog, the one who likes and comments regularly or the one who never does but also never fails to stop by, I express my sincerest gratitude. Fall Be This

The underlying premise of starting the blog, for me, was the ability to try and recreate runway looks which I so admire. Styling has always been a matter of ideology for me, a reinforcement of culture and personality and a domain constantly challenging to inspire, innovate and create something from what already exists, sometimes forgotten, in my closet. This look is my adaptation of Burberry's Fall 2014 ready-to-wear collection titled The Bloomsbury Girls. The collection in addition to being a customary celebration of the British culture was also an ode to the freedom of motion, the finesse of hand-painting and the art of tapestry. The coats and jackets, ponchos and blanket throws, dresses and scarves, bags and booties were obvious love...something that goes without saying. I personally loved this idea of creating a print mix and pairing a shirt dress with a scarf cringed to the waist. The magicked bite in this whole idea was the perfectly blended and balanced dose of colour and print between all elements. Also, for me it symbolized the perfect attire welcoming fall - just when dresses become longer and all you need is an additional layer to save yourself from the nip in the air. Unlike the collection, my bag and sandals were in solids, but I guess the distance remains only in owning those perfect pieces to achieve an actual rendition of the 'Burberry Look'. Talking of which, the verdict on mine should precede this..

I look forward to your comments and suggestions. You can drop them down as comments or can even stop by my Instagram for the same. Don't forget to check out Himanshu's too - @himshootz.

What's made black and white an epitome in fashion classics? Why has Coco Chanel's, Calvin Klein's and Helmut Lang's ideologies rendered an influence past time? Being a forever admirer and a recent practitioner of minimal art, the one theory I reckon about minimalism is that it is timeless. A great silhouette in black, white or gray is the basic building block in any wardrobe, and can never really go out of style. Further, you can maneuver these pieces to adapt to your mood. You can go bold in the colour and miss out on accessories or add some jewellery or a belt for contrast. Minimalism is a form which is not temporal in trends and perhaps that is what makes it classic and elegant.
And that's perhaps why, when the wonderful team at Fashionatclick sent over these goodies for me to style, this asymmetrical hemmed dress was my instant pick. The runway is the biggest source of inspiration for the world of fashion. Not many of us are exposed to the glitz and glamour of this world, yet are always enamoured by it. Fashionatclick, brings you this world of ‘fashion fantasy’ where the styles walked on the ramp are offered at affordable prices and are just a click away!
For me personally, this dress spelled two elements that inspire me as a woman. It has a very strong and bold cut when you see it, but when worn it drapes itself fluidly reflecting all facets of feminism. Also, I feel that an asymmetrical cut, clever draping and folding are techniques that have a certain enigma attached. Clearly, this dress ticked all those boxes for me. Further, it serves as a perfect canvas to try some layering options. Throw on another classic - a basic white shirt, cringing it on the waist with a tan belt for a day out shopping. Else wear a sequined blazer or a vest with your favourite stilettos for that date night. A solid dress gives you multiple variants in styling.
Keeping in line with the bold and the feminine, I completed the outfit with these gladiator sandals and a pearl choker, respectively.
I hope you liked the post. You can also see me wear Fashionatclick here and here. Have a fabulous week guys!

The Undecided Love

It is sometimes challenging but always fun to build an outfit around one or two statement pieces. More so, to do this with elements you love. I’ve always remained undecided as to what I love more between pastels and neons. The soft, delicate demure of pastels is most refreshing and fit for days wherein you wish for a whirlwind of romance and Parisian charisma to engulf you. The dynamic effect of neons plays to work its colour magic on you making you feel confident and in control of the field. Hence, the opportunist in me, for this very look, decided to marry the conservative with the edgy.

When the gorgeous ladies at Miss Flurrty decided to shower me with some jewellery love, I couldn’t wait to jump the bandwagon and give their beautiful, hand-picked pieces a right canvas to uphold. With this very look, I paired the candy-floss whites and baby-pinks, with this fancy-grunged neon neck-piece and neon pumps. Pairing completely opposite pieces in minimal degrees always works to create a balanced and holistic look that isn’t stark or in-your face. This also documents Miss Flurrty's ideology and taste in what they offer to their customers. There pieces don't tend to over-compensate your look, yet even if you add one piece in your outfit it will be substantial to make a statement. That’s something I’ve grown to believe strongly in my personal style and Miss Flurrty stands up to deliver the same. And I bet you, if you are neon averse a neck-piece like mine is the perfect start.

This shoot has been very special for more reasons than one. It’s been wonderful to collaborate with the young and very talented Sohail Singh who with his undeniable love for photography and dreams surrounding the same, surely has a long way to go. Do visit his work (here) and show your love. Oh! Did I mention we shot in the middle of a busy, rush-hour over-bridge? Yes, we love our jobs!
