Hello Readers :)
Now, for all those of you who don't know (I guess I do not mention it much ????) I have a work-from-home job. Such a 'work' scenario definitely comes with its share of pros and cons. Amidst many, one such pro is that I save my 2-3 'dressing hours' in doing something new, exciting and creative each day. Amidst many, one such con is that I don't get to 'dress up' each day. (Thus no daily posts :p) Anyway, I was reminded of another related con..which being that if I don't get to dress up, I also miss out on seeing how people are dressed for work.
Having said that, I feel people somewhat construe the meaning of formal/power dressing and are scared to experiment. I say so because back in my B School I used to get not-so-friendly (read weird, shocked) glances if I wore a pencil skirt for a presentation or pinned a brooch to my blazer or wore a scarf as a cravat. Style as they say..isn't everyone's cup of tea!!
But YES not to miss - Corporate dressing does mean dressing up in formals but one should always opt for a perfect fit. Like, a pair of well fitted trousers are an investment which you wouldn't regret. The trousers I wear for this post were a part of my college uniform. As boring as my uniform was, these trousers have always given me ideas to create chic outfits.
This outfit is about a fortnight old when it was a little chilly. Thus this light cardigan.
Wearing:
Trousers - TrimmingsAndLace
Top - From a boutique (Dubai)
Cardigan - From a boutique (Dubai)
Belt - Forever 21
Peep-Toes - Local Store (Chandigarh)
Watch - Levis
Bangle - Thrifted
With an embellished top and an embellished cardigan, you wont blame me for missing out on accessories.
