In a very long time perhaps, penning a post (again) seemed liked a challenge. With the exploding real-time bomb a.k.a the social media you already know about the Spring/Summer'16 trends, must-haves, dos and don'ts. Is there any particular trend this outfit conveys? Lace, crop-tops, culottes...you get the clue. Should I talk about life post marriage? Do readers really have time for it? Should I create a 'virtual' zone for my wedding festivities? Or should I tell you about the projects I am flooded with with or how stressful March endings are supposed to be with all the tax returns. Should I interest you with projects in the pipeline or with selfies at the fashion week. Maybe, I can do a house-tour and delusion you guys with the fanciness of a blogger life. I can pitch in my wedding outfits, venues and jewellery too. Do I sound cynical?  Does the blogger life seem much of a fad? With their hothouse hues and a magnitude of prints, MaxFashions has always been among my favourite stores. To picking up a complete outfit or adding elements as basic as a crisp white shirt to complete a look, Max always stands up to those fashion needs without burning a hole in your pocket. More often that not, we all attempt to create a utilitarian wardrobe that consists of pieces which we can wear everyday and include them in our day to day routine. I have always advocated in being money-wise when it comes to this and Max as a brand truly resonates this ideology, albeit stylishly. Earlier this week, I was invited to the Max stores for a preview of their Fall/Winter'14 collection. The collection is buzzing with bright colours and some interesting kitsch and geometric prints in knits, pullovers, jackets and coats. This being so ideal for the dull, foggy, no-sun days. I absolutely loved the floral and baroque print sweatshirts from the collection. One can easily mix them with prints or wear them with a basic pair of jeans, to let them hold their own and make a statement. 

What caught my eye, however, among the panorama of prints and colours, was this dainty floral number. Less feminine than the summer floral bunch, sporting florals in winters always is a perspective to brighter, sunnier days (although, shooting at 9 degrees doesn't leave much space for thoughts like these). I picked up this number also to experiment with a certain amount of luxe and edginess that is usually associated with winter florals. Instead of jewellery, I accessorized with a tie to add a dash of colour and another layer in terms of styling. As I wasn't attempting to present an androgynous look, I balanced the effect with a pair of very vintage and à la french brooches.

This is a very simple and an easy look which can be worn in a multiple ways. You can opt to wear the dress on its own or layer it like I have. Instead of greys and blacks you can also add a bright pink blazer to the dress. Skip the stockings or add colour. Swap the boots for pumps or wedges. Belt the dress to structure your look. Add a faux collar or wear a collar necklace. The options are endless. Isn't that true for dressing anyway?

An overload of pictures explain my happiness of returning with an outfit post. It indeed has been long (remember this). The past two months were a crazy roller-coaster to say the least, albeit the most memorable two months of my life. If you are on my Instagram, you might know but for those who aren't, my sister's wedding last month accounted for all this craziness and the missing posts ofcourse! So, what goes into making a typical Indian wedding...well you got to stay tuned for it!

Spring finally is showing colours in this part of the world, after a string of rainy days. Across fashion circuits, spring undoubtedly is the most loved season. For me it signifies happy dressing. Stockings, bare legs, dresses, blazers, light cardigans all seem to fit the bill. Its the vibe of the weather which makes even the monotone outfits bright and cheery. In this case, the orange satchel did the trick too. Much like crop-tops, my love for black and white too has been on a rise. With this outfit, I kept the overall contrast to a minimum retaining the satchel as the statement piece. A special mention to these velvet pumps which I bought sometime in December at a steal price. Ain't you just lucky when you find heels you can literally run in. Gold accessories and my new-found love for nude lips finished my look. What are you loving this March? Life & Me

Hello Lovelies!!

It seems I no longer need to shout from rooftops my love for stockings and how much of a winter staple they are for me.

That was my outfit, definitely intended to brighten a typical winter day. Yes, perhaps the amusement park visit with my four year old brother, the rides and endless doses of McFlurry and french fries (oooppsss it is OK to spoil yourself..I never proclaimed I was a celebrity *wink*) wasn't enough to make the day brighter!!

I teamed up my purple turtleneck sweater dress with orange stockings (Winter Colour-Blocking???) to create a very basic and bright look. Turtlenecks are back from an exile thanks to designers like Poebe Philo, Raf Simmons and Altuzarra and continue to uphold the charm of sophistication and chicness.

What's Your Christmas Wish List ???

Hello gorgeous people!! How have you been?? 

Well we in Chandigarh experienced the first winter showers today and man..its winters OFFICIALLY!! Now just as it was raining and getting dark and I was piling on another layer of cardigan I reminisced some typical winters scenes - layers and layers of cardigans, constantly cold feet, the toughest battle to get out of the blanket each morning, quiet streets, gloomy evenings, gripping hot coffee and tea, great skin and hair, the chilly wind striking the face, fabulous clothes, lots of weddings, parties, new year resolution drafts and and and SANTA : D

Yes..the reason I had been absent all this while was because my darling sister had to go to US, which makes her my Santa for the season :p 

So as she holidays there, I shall be here waiting for my bag(s) full of Christmas goodies...Though she is off with quite an extensive list from me, here's a peak into my wish list:

Christmas and Santa are symbolic of another thing and that is STOCKINGS!! Yes, winter fashion lets you morph yourself (legs to be exact) in amazing hues which can lift up any outfit. Besides they are a great way to enhance the traditional greys, blacks and navy blues. Plus plus plus, contrary to popular belief they are really really warm precisely because they are mostly in nylon mix which traps, locks and seals air byways.

For this post, I wore a summer dress the winter way, completing it with some feminine accessories and the season's favourite shimmering - metallic hues!!
